Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work has stated in numerous forums that he believes technology will help the U.S. solve many national defense problems, especially cyber and electronic warfare systems against intercontinental ballistic missiles. The problem with these secret, high tech weapons is that almost nobody knows about them — including people on our own side who might really need to use them and plan to integrate their effects. That’s the self-inflicted wound the Pentagon is struggling with as it tries to apply highly classified capabilities in cyber and electronic warfare to the notoriously tough challenge of missile defense.
