The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it. — Thucydides. This Memorial Day, I will remember the US military members that have fallen since I enlisted into this all-volunteer military in 1995. Afghanistan 2003-present: 1,984. Iraq 2001-2011: 4,486. Yugoslavia 1999: 20. Bosnia-Herzegovina 1995-2004: 12. Haiti 1994-1995: 4. Colombia 1994-present: 8.
