Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson
Frankie Edgar shocked most UFC fans by defeating Gray Maynard in their last outing. Edgar will be too fast for Henderson.
Cubicle Warrior’s Pick: Edgar via KO.
Rampage Jackson vs. Ryan Bader
Rampage is 2 – 2 in his last four fights. Rampage needs to regain some of the glory from his previous 17 fights in Japan under PRIDE. I have not been impressed with Bader lately, so I give the edge to Rampage in his return to Japan.
Cubicle Warrior’s Pick: Jackson via decision.
Cheick Kongo vs. Mark Hunt
Hunt spent a lot of time in Japan under K-1. Congo can handle kick boxers.
Cubicle Warrior’s Pick: Kongo in a boxing match decision
Sexyama returns to his home country riding a three-fight losing streak. In an attempt to jump start his career, he is dropping a weight class. Against Shields, I doubt it will be enough. Look at the bright side, Sexyama will not have to go far when Shields sends him home and out of the UFC.
Cubicle Warrior’s Pick: Shields via decision.
Yushin Okami vs. Tim Boetsch
Okami is 10-3 in the UFC career and has only lost to elite fighters Rich Franklin, Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva…and he is fighting in front of a home crowd.
Cubicle Warrior Pick: Okami via decision.
Hatsu Hioki vs. Bart Palaszewski
Who wants to be offered up as human sacrifice for Jose Aldo? The winner here will be the loser against Aldo in his next MMA clinic. When in doubt, pick the home team.
Cubicle Warrior’s Pick: Hioki via decision.
Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon
Is there anyone who does not think this will be FOTN? Pettis must survive Lauzon’s famed haymaker in the initial onslaught, then avoid getting dry humped a la Clay Guida. Showtime has learned a lot in recent disappointing losses, so I will go out on the ledge and give this one to Showtime in an exciting back and forth fight.
Cubicle Warrior’s Pick: Showtime
