90 Days Until Florida Gator Football

#90 – Huey Richardson, DE (1986-90)

Huey L. Richardson, Jr., of Atlanta, GA, was a standout defensive end under Galen Hall and Steve Spurrier from 1987 to 1990. At the time he was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003, he was still ranked amongst the top five in record  books for career quarterback sacks (26.5) and tackles for loss (50.5). Huey managed to stay on the SEC Academic Honor Roll all four years as well, and graduated with a bachelor’s in economics in 1990. After his short NFL career fizzled, he got his master’s degree in business administration back home in Atlanta, at Emory University. Huey was a perennial all-star in college, having earned first-team honors on the All-SEC team in 1989 and 190, and first-team All-American in 1990.
