Movie Review: Clash of the Titans (2010): Jake Sully/Marcus as Perseus

Clash of the Titans (2010) gets 2/5 stars for piss-poor 3D and horrible mangulation (that’s a portmanteau of mangling and discombobulation) of Greek mythology. This movie is more entertaining when compared to Percy Jackson and the Olympians than when it is compared to the original Clash of the Titans. Waste of talent by Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes. Further proof of Sam Waterton’s poor acting and typecastability as a Marine/Terminator/other tough dude out to prove people wrong. At least Gemma Arterton‘s soothing voice helps ease the pain of this 2-1/2 hour ordeal.

Family-friendly: B+ (PG-13: one scene of decapitation–no spurting blood, no nudity, no sex scenes, only the B-word)
Action: B+
Plot: D (uniforms and scenery not of the right period, Greek mythology distorted, no character development)
Overall entertainment value: C

Go watch this movie in 2D. Do not waste an extra penny on the feaux-3D. This movie can be enjoyable for the adult males as long as they do not take their eyes off Gemma Arterton.
