My friend Josh had free, court side tickets to the 2012 season opener for the San Antonio Spurs. I have lived in the Alamo City for 6 years now, and I finally got to see the Spurs play. Having watched them, I feel silly for not going to a game sooner. The Spurs started off rather slowly. Tim Duncan almost fouled out in the first quarter, but finished strong with 10 points. Richard Jefferson looked pretty good while scoring 14, considering how much Spurs fans complained about him last season. Once Tony Parker got warmed up he looked very good on his way to 15 points. Manu Ginobli started off rather slowly as well, but surged in the end to 24 points. Former Florida Gator Matt Bonner scored 3 points off the bench and James Anderson added 9 points from the bench. Rookie Kahwli Leonard cannot shoot worth a darn, but it was fun to watch him steal the ball. He did make one clutch shot after a behind-the-back pass from Ginobli.
