#93 – Alonzo Johnson, LB (1983-85)

Alonzo All Johnson, from Panama City, Florida, was overshadowed by Wilber Marshall on the 1983 to 1985 Gator squads, but was a ferocious defensive lineman opposite the Great Wall of Florida in his own right. At the time, he set a Gator record for 11 sacks in a season (’84) and then broke his own record with 12 sacks (’85). He was team captain and All-SEC in ’84 and ’85. He is second only to Alex Brown (’98-’01) in career sacks at UF with 27, and finished his career with 335 tackles, 55 TFL, and 7 QB sacks. Alonzo was voted to the Florida Gator All-Century Team, the All-Time Team, and the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame.
